Application Description
Tarneeb, known in Arab countries and especially in the Levant as a popular card game, is also called "rule" in the Arab Gulf states. The primary goal of Tarneeb is to win consecutive rounds, or "Tarneeb groups." The game is played with four players divided into two teams, with each team consisting of two players sitting opposite each other. The teams continue playing until the end of the rounds, at which point the winner is announced.
The game uses a standard 52-card deck, excluding jokers. The gameplay starts with the player to the left of the dealer making the first bid. Each player, in turn, bids starting from 7 up to 13, also known as "Cabot" or "livers." Bidding begins with the player to the right of the dealer, and the highest bidder selects the Tarneeb suit.
If a player fails to meet their bid, for example, bidding 10 but only collecting 9 tricks, the opposing team scores the number of tricks they collected. In this scenario, if the bidding team collected 4 tricks, and the opposing team collected 5, the opposing team's score would be adjusted accordingly.
The game concludes when one of the teams reaches a predetermined score, either 61 or 31, based on an agreement made before the game starts.
The card rankings in Tarneeb are as follows:
- Ace (Cut)
- King (Sheikh)
- Queen (girl)
- Jack (born)
- Followed by 10 down to 2 in descending order.
