Application Description

A dynamic platformer combined with a 2D physics-based machine simulator.

You pilot a quirky, compact-cabin off-road vehicle. This machine features a three-axle motor drive, a vertical spring mechanism, a small turbojet engine, and a heavy rotational mace as its primary weapon. It also includes a confined trunk with several slots for storing weapons and supplies.

Take control of this agile machine to battle enemy creatures, smash objects, balance on moving platforms, and collect guns and items.

Key game features and mechanics:

✔ Object interactions are deeply rooted in a realistic 2D physics simulation.

✔ Nearly all dynamic objects are destructible (broken platforms are regenerated).

✔ Your vehicle's integrity decreases when hit, falling from great heights, or being crushed between objects.

✔ Every control action, except using the trunk, consumes a certain amount of fuel.

✔ Wheel torque, jump force, turbo thrust, and gunfire are all time-dependent.

✔ Your machine can acquire temporary positive and negative abilities.

✔ Restore health, fuel, and time or switch weapons on the fly.

✔ Skill is required to expertly control the vehicle and maintain balance on moving platforms.

✔ Objects stuck in the wheels are a "controllable bug"—simply use your mace to clear them.

The game offers two distinct modes:

1. CAMPAIGN

You are dispatched to a distant, unnamed planet to test your vehicle's durability and your skills as a driver. Break boxes, search for keys, collect them to unlock an exit door, find that door, and enter it to complete a level and progress to the next. Use your machine's agility and your wits to succeed.

Recommended for experienced players.

Campaign features and mechanics:

✔ Heavily revolves around in-game gold transactions.

✔ Pay gold to attempt a level and earn gold as a reward upon completion.

✔ Purchase weapons and supplies (health, fuel, time, boosts) from the store before starting a level.

✔ Sell surplus trunk items and guns via the store.

✔ Earn gold in the "Catch Gold" mini-game.

✔ Be warned: it's possible to run completely OUT OF GOLD with no way to earn more, in which case you must start a NEW campaign.

✔ Incorporates randomness, requiring a bit of luck.

✔ Game progress is saved automatically (no manual save/load).

(P.S. This campaign is designed as a challenging, "old-school" experience).

2. SANDBOX

Spawn nearly any game object from the factory menu (button at the bottom of the screen) at almost any point on the map. Build structures, add enemies, grab weapons, and start a battle—the choice is yours to experiment!

Sandbox features and mechanics:

✔ Open the factory, select an object, and tap where you want to spawn it.

✔ Enable "OverSpawn" in the Options to place objects even inside static terrain (use sparingly, as it may cause odd physics).

✔ Select a color in the factory to assign factions to enemies.

✔ Pan and zoom the camera freely.

✔ Toggle the "F" button to enable/disable camera follow on your vehicle.

✔ Toggle the "P" button off to disable all factory spawning abilities.

✔ Customize the factory window: move it, resize it, and adjust its opacity.

Deft Machine is a uniquely challenging 2D platformer with unconventional mechanics, paired with a robust physics simulator, offering a fresh and memorable gaming experience!
