Le label Infogrames d'Atari acquiert la franchise Surgeon Simulator

Atari, à travers sa filiale Infogrames, a annoncé l'acquisition de la franchise Surgeon Simulator auprès de tinyBuild Inc., l'éditeur du jeu. Infogrames, relancé par Atari, sert de label pour les titres en dehors du portefeuille principal d'Atari, redonnant vie à une marque réputée pour son développement de jeux et sa distribution mondiale dans les années 80 et 90. Après avoir changé de nom sous Atari en 2003, la société a fait faillite en 2013, pour réapparaître un an plus tard au sein de la société Atari moderne. Cette récente acquisition de Surgeon Simulator fait suite à l'achat par Atari de Totally Reliable Delivery Service en avril 2024, renforçant encore davantage la résurgence d'Infogrames.

"Surgeon Simulator, plus de 10 ans après sa sortie initiale, reste une franchise particulièrement populaire", a déclaré Geoffroy Châteauvieux, directeur d'Infogrames. "Acquérir un jeu aussi attrayant et durable était une opportunité rare, et nous sommes ravis de l'ajouter au portefeuille d'Infogrames."

Le succès continu de Surgeon Simulator

Surgeon Simulator, initialement sorti sur PC et Mac en 2013, met en scène le chirurgien hilarant et incompétent Nigel Burke effectuant des opérations sur un patient affectueusement surnommé « Bob ».
