Using Your App and Reader with the Same Sensor

When using the FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor, alarms can be set to notify you either on your FreeStyle Libre 2 reader or your smartphone, but not simultaneously on both. To receive alarms on your phone, you must start the sensor with the app. Conversely, to receive alarms on your reader, start the sensor with the FreeStyle Libre 2 reader. After starting the sensor with the reader, you can still use your phone to scan it.

Remember, the app and the reader do not share data with each other. To get a complete picture of your glucose levels, it's recommended to scan your sensor every 8 hours with the device you're using.
