The rules of Mau Mau are detailed within the app itself, and you can also find them at https://mauking.com/pravila-igre-mau-mau. Here’s a quick refresher to confirm you’re playing the game you're familiar with:

• The game begins with one card on the table and six cards dealt to each player.
• The first player to discard all their cards wins.
• On your turn, you must play a card that matches the top card on the table by either number or suit.
• If you can't play a matching card, draw one from the Draw Pile. If you still can't play, hit the "Pass" button.
• Before playing your second-to-last card, click the Hand button to signal to other players that you're close to winning. This will display a raised hand next to your avatar.

Special cards add a twist to the gameplay:

• The Jack can be played on any card except another Jack. Upon playing it, you choose the suit for the next player.
• The Eight skips the next player's turn.
• The Seven forces the next player to draw two cards unless they can play another Seven, escalating the penalty to four cards for the following player, and so on.
• The Queen reverses the direction of play.
• Playing an Ace allows you another turn, preventing you from winning on an Ace as you must play again.
• The Two of Clubs makes the next player draw four cards.
