The highly anticipated Season 3 update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has arrived, delivering substantial changes across multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone modes. This content drop marks the game's first seasonal update since launch, introducing new maps, weapons, gameplay mechanics and quality-of-life improvements.
Major Feature Highlights
Activision has revealed comprehensive patch notes detailing all updates arriving on April 2 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox platforms. The update brings significant balance changes to weapon classes, with shotguns receiving universal buffs to damage, range and fire rate. The new season also introduces refined crossplay settings, allowing console players more control over their matchmaking preferences.
Multiplayer enthusiasts can look forward to three new maps: a remastered Firing Range, the Vietnam-inspired Barrage, and Afghanistan-based Nomad. Two fresh game modes - Sharpshooter and Demolition - join the rotation alongside new armaments including the Kilo 141 assault rifle and HDR sniper rifle.
Zombies and Warzone Enhancements
Zombies mode receives its largest expansion yet with the new Shattered Veil map, featuring the return of fan-favorite Perk-A-Cola Double Tap and the powerful Ray Gun Mark II with three variant forms. The update also introduces dangerous new enemy types including Toxic Zombies and Elder Disciples.
Warzone's headline feature is the triumphant return of Verdansk, fully remastered while maintaining the classic layout that made it iconic. The map incorporates quality-of-life improvements alongside nostalgic elements like the original Gulag and Buy Station interfaces. New limited-time modes and events will celebrate Verdansk's homecoming throughout the season.
Comprehensive Balance Changes
This season's weapon tuning focuses on increasing gameplay variety, with semi-automatic weapons receiving particular attention. Almost all attachment-modifying behaviors have been adjusted to improve viability, creating more meaningful customization choices.
Movement mechanics have been refined across all modes, with crouch and prone speeds adjusted for better tactical play. The update also implements numerous bug fixes and stability improvements based on community feedback since launch.
Full patch notes detailing all changes can be found on Activision's official website. The update goes live April 2 at 9AM PT across all platforms.
