"Days Gone Remastered: New Feature Allows Game Speed Adjustment"

The much-anticipated Days Gone Remastered is on the horizon, and Sony's Bend Studio has recently shared exciting details about the accessibility features that will enhance the gaming experience. One of the standout features is the ability to adjust the Game Speed, allowing players to slow down the action when things get intense. This option lets players reduce the speed of gameplay from 100% down to 75%, 50%, and even 25%, making it easier for those who find high-pressure situations challenging.

In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Kevin McAllister, Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead, elaborated on these new accessibility options. "Game Speed is ideal for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with various inputs in high-pressure moments, specifically fighting off hordes of Freakers," McAllister explained. He highlighted that with the introduction of the new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, making this unique combat experience more accessible was a priority.

Beyond Game Speed, Days Gone Remastered will offer a range of other accessibility features. These include customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. Additionally, the auto-complete QTE option, which was previously limited to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels, from Easy to Survival II.

Bend Studio also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be available for the PC version of Days Gone. However, some features like feedback and control customization will require a compatible controller.

Days Gone Remastered was officially announced in February, promising not only enhanced accessibility but also new gameplay modes such as an enhanced photo mode, permadeath, and speedrun options. This remaster of the 2019 post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game is set to launch on April 25, 2025. Players who already own the PS4 version can upgrade to the PS5 remastered version for just $10.
