Defeating the Eye Monster (Peeper) in R.E.P.O.: Strategies Revealed

Apr 02,2025 Author: Alexis

In *R.E.P.O.*, navigating through 19 distinct monster types is part of the thrill, keeping players constantly engaged and on edge. Each monster brings its unique set of skills and attacks to the table, demanding quick reactions to avoid an early end to your level. Among these creatures is the Eye Monster, known as the Peeper. Here's a detailed guide on how to effectively deal with the Peeper in *R.E.P.O.*:

How to Beat the Eye Monster (Peeper) in R.E.P.O.

The Peeper, a ceiling-dwelling adversary, can be challenging to spot due to its habit of spawning in random locations across the map. This giant eyeball remains closed until you venture into its vicinity, at which point it opens and locks your gaze, causing you to lose the ability to look away. This connection deals two points of damage to your HP every second it's maintained. While the Peeper's damage output is on the lower end of the danger scale, its ability to disorient you can be a significant hindrance, especially when it zooms in your POV on its eyeball, making it difficult to navigate your surroundings or escape from other threats.

To combat the Peeper effectively, always be vigilant of its potential to appear anywhere. Keep a mental note of escape routes where you can retreat, such as around corners or through doorways. If possible, closing the door behind you can break the Peeper's gaze. If you're with a teammate, have them help by slamming the door shut, making it easier to escape. The key is to stay calm and keep moving, avoiding panic.

To eliminate the Peeper, you'll need to use the 'Gun', which can be acquired at the Service Station for approximately $47K. It may require a few shots to take down this eye monster. While it's challenging to use the gun while under the Peeper's influence, it's not impossible if you remain composed. As with many challenges in *R.E.P.O.*, having a teammate by your side can significantly ease the process.
