This connection deals two points of damage to your HP every second it's maintained. While the Peeper's damage output is on the lower end of the danger scale, its ability to disorient you can be a significant hindrance, especially when it zooms in your POV on its eyeball, making it difficult to navigate your surroundings or escape from other threats.
