Dune: Awakening PvP Exploit Discovered During Open Beta

Recently concluded, Dune: Awakening's open beta weekend unveiled an intriguing yet concerning exploit that has captured the attention of the gaming community. Fans discovered a glitch allowing players to indefinitely stun their opponents in PvP matches. This exploit has sparked discussions about its impact on the game's balance and what steps Funcom will take to rectify the situation.
Players Discover Game-Breaking Stunlock Exploit
During the open beta weekend, participants experienced a fascinating yet problematic feature in the game's PvP mode. The "stunlock exploit" arises when a player continuously performs quick knife attacks on an opponent with depleted stamina. This results in the victim being perpetually stunned, unable to perform any actions, utilize abilities, or escape from the endless stagger.
This exploit gained significant visibility through popular streamers Tyler1 and Shroud, who showcased it during their live broadcasts of the game. Their streams brought substantial attention to the issue, prompting widespread concern among the player base.
Funcom Promises Fix Before Launch
In response to the discovery, developers from Funcom acknowledged the exploit during the Global LAN Party livestream. Dune: Awakening's World Director, Jeff Gagné, alongside Lead Producer Ole Andreas Haley, assured viewers that the issue would be resolved prior to the game's official launch.
Gagné confidently stated, "We got this covered. It's not like 'Oh my god, we haven't thought about it.' It's already going away." Following the conclusion of the open beta, the development team has gathered valuable feedback, which will help refine the game for its impending release.
