With the introduction of the farm expansion feature in the v0.13.0 update, you can significantly increase your farm's size. This guide will walk you through the process of unlocking and building your farm expansion.

How to Unlock Farm Expansion in Fields of Mistria

The farm expansion feature allows you to extend your farm's width across the river to the right, granting you additional land to develop. To unlock this feature, head over to the **Carpenter’s Shop** located in the Eastern Road area. You can purchase the expansion as early as your first year, but you need to meet certain prerequisites.

First, you must elevate the town's rank to **Rank 55** by accumulating enough Renown points. Additionally, you need to complete the Stone Refinery repair quest, which also requires reaching Rank 55. These requirements are interconnected, so progressing in one area helps in unlocking the others.

Once these initial milestones are achieved, you'll need to gather the materials required for the expansion. This is a significant investment, so be prepared for a substantial grind.

How to Build Farm Expansion in Fields of Mistria

To begin the expansion process, visit the Carpenter’s Shop on the Eastern Road, northeast of Mistria’s town center. From the main menu, select ‘Farm Expansion’ at the bottom to view the necessary requirements.

The monetary cost of the upgrade is **40,000 Tesserae**. Accumulating this amount will take time, so focus on gathering resources, farming, and completing quests. Regularly visit the Mines, engage in fishing, and contribute new items to the Museum to increase your earnings.

You'll also need **50 x Refined Stone**, which you can obtain after repairing the **Stone Refinery**. This repair is only possible once you reach Town Rank 55 and after you've repaired the Inn.

Lastly, gather **50 x Hard Wood**, the easiest material to acquire. With a **Copper Axe**, you can chop **large tree stumps** around your farm and beyond, each yielding 2 x Hard Wood. Alternatively, you can purchase Hard Wood from **Balor’s Cart** on specific days or earn it by contributing to the Museum.

Once you've collected all the required materials and funds, return to the Carpenter’s Shop and purchase the expansion. This will extend your farm eastward across the river, complete with a bridge for easy access.
