Fallout 76 Season 20, titled "The Ghoul Within," has now launched, offering players the thrilling opportunity to transform into a Ghoul in the post-apocalyptic world of Appalachia. This update introduces numerous ghoul-centric features, mechanics, and cosmetic options to enhance your C.A.M.P. and gameplay experience. To dive into this new feature, embark on the "Leap of Faith" questline, which will guide you through the process of Ghoulification and introduce you to new characters integral to your transformation journey.
Unleash the Ghoul Within
As a Ghoul, players unlock exclusive abilities such as Glow and Feral, along with 30 new Ghoul-exclusive Perks or "Gherks." The Feral ability transforms the conventional hunger and thirst mechanics, providing boosts based on the Feral meter's status. Dropping to 0% on the meter yields significant gameplay changes, including a whopping +150% Melee Damage at the cost of reduced Endurance, Charisma, Max HP, Max AP, and a drastic reduction in Hip-fire and V.A.T.S. Accuracy. On the other hand, the Glow ability allows players to consume radiation, granting immunity to diseases and mutations, and even causes players to emit a glow. It also boosts maximum health, heals damage, and enhances the effectiveness of Gherks.
Players can choose from 28 different perks and two new legendary perks designed specifically for Ghouls. However, keep in mind that certain perks related to Hunger, Thirst, and Chem Resistance are off-limits to Ghouls, as they don't need these benefits.
A Day In The Life of A Ghoul

Navigating the radiation-filled wasteland becomes more manageable with the advantages provided by Gherks and Ghoul abilities. However, not all factions, such as the Brotherhood of Steel, will welcome Ghouls, potentially leading to hostility and locked questlines. Fortunately, a new NPC named Jaye offers disguises that allow Ghouls to access previously restricted content. If the Ghoul life doesn't suit you, you can revert to being human via the Character Screen, albeit it's a one-way decision. Should you wish to become a Ghoul again, you can purchase the Ghoul Retransformation for 1000 Atoms.
Level 50 Character Boost and Season 20 Patch Notes

New and veteran players alike can now fast-track their adventure with the Level 50 Character Boost, available for 1500 Atoms. This boost equips players with the necessary perks and enhancements to immediately dive into multiplayer activities like Daily Ops and Public Events, as well as some story content. Alongside this, the Season 20 update includes crucial bug fixes, balance adjustments, accessibility improvements, combat refinements, and weapon damage modifications. Bethesda has also teased the next update, "The Big Bloom," set to arrive on April 29, as part of their season calendar.
Since its launch in November 2018, Fallout 76 has overcome its initial challenges and now boasts a "Mostly Positive" review status on Steam, with 76% positive feedback. The game is available across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
