Guide to Completing the Straw Hat Side Quest in KCD2

In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, some quests require you to reach Kuttenberg before they become available. Once you're there, you can explore new areas and take on the "Under the Straw Hat" quest. Here's a detailed guide on how to unlock and complete it.

How to Unlock 'Under the Straw Hat' in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Before embarking on "Under the Straw Hat," you must first initiate the "In Vino Veritas" side quest, which is set in Kuttenberg. Upon arriving, seek out Casper Rudolf, who is offering free wine samples on the west side of the city. He's keen on improving his wine and needs your help to gather information.

You have two paths to gather the necessary wine knowledge. You can directly approach Havel and impress him with your wine expertise, or you can retrieve Casper's book from Adleta and study it. If you choose to meet Havel, ensure you're dressed in fine clothes and well-groomed. During your conversation with him, select "Germany," "Steinberger," and "It’s missing ginger" as your answers. This is the only way to extract the information you need. Once you've obtained the details, return to Casper and share your findings.

Access the Vineyard

Next, Casper will task you with infiltrating a vineyard north of Kuttenberg to learn more about the incense Havel mentioned. Avoid wandering into the fields to prevent trespassing charges. Instead, follow the main road into the vineyard and speak with the recruiter, who will introduce you to the "Under the Straw Hat" quest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. Continue along the road, pass a guard at the estate entrance, and locate Jerome on a bench. Inform Jerome that you've been instructed to report there, and he'll provide you with details about working at the vineyard.

Working at the Vineyard

Your job at the vineyard begins the following day. Return to the vineyard in the morning after resting at an inn or another location. To earn wages, you'll need to move sacks to their designated spots and collect plants like Thistle around the vines. However, if you're focused solely on the incense, head straight to the wine cellar.

The wine cellar is located in the main building, downstairs from where you met Jerome. Accessing it is tricky as it's a restricted area, even for workers. You'll need either a lockpick or to steal the keys from Jerome. Once inside, find a chest and take all the Sulphur Wicks. This action completes the main objective, but you can also pick up seedlings for Casper to boost your reward. From the main building's entrance, head straight to the door across the building to find the seedlings. Be quick as this area is also off-limits.

If you've done your work, report to Jerome at the end of the day to collect your pay. Otherwise, return to Casper with the wicks and any seedlings you've gathered.

By following these steps, you'll successfully complete both "Under the Straw Hat" and "In Vino Veritas" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. This will pave the way for engaging in other side quests, such as "Master Schindel's Toys."
