Marvel Rivals to Add 2 Heroes Every 3 Months

NetEase Games is committed to keeping Marvel Rivals fresh and exciting for its player base through regular updates. The developers plan to roll out an update approximately every month and a half, introducing two new heroes each quarter. This strategy ensures that there's always something new for players to explore when they return to the game.

In an insightful interview, game director Guangyun Chen revealed that each seasonal update is thoughtfully divided into two parts. The first half of the season will feature the introduction of one new hero, while the second half will unveil another. This approach keeps both the audience and players engaged throughout the season.

Beyond new heroes, Marvel Rivals will also update its maps, storylines, and objectives, enhancing the overall gaming experience. Among the characters teased, Blade remains a non-playable character for now, while Altron has been hinted at through leaks. Additionally, the entire Fantastic Four team has been recently showcased, adding to the anticipation.

The game has achieved significant financial success, earning around $100 million globally, with a substantial portion coming from the Chinese market, as reported by the Chinese publication GameLook. Marvel, traditionally dominant in the film industry, has made a bold and successful transition into the gaming sector with Marvel Rivals.

Despite the challenges faced by Square Enix's Avengers, Marvel Rivals has effectively filled a niche in the game-service genre. The NetEase studio has delivered a high-quality heroic shooter with a roster of compelling characters, which has been met with positive reviews since its launch.
