Marvel Snap has been banned in the US, a move that coincides with the ban of the popular app TikTok. These events are linked; both apps are owned by ByteDance, a company currently under intense scrutiny in the US regarding national security and data privacy concerns.
Why the US Ban?
This preemptive action by ByteDance, also affecting Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and CapCut, aims to avoid a broader crackdown. The company faces significant pressure from US lawmakers.
While a TikTok comeback, even temporarily, is possible, the future of Marvel Snap and other ByteDance apps in the US remains uncertain. The US market represents a substantial portion of these companies' player bases and revenue, making a prolonged ban a significant blow.
For now, the lifting of the Marvel Snap ban remains unclear. Players outside the US can continue enjoying the game, available on the Google Play Store.
