Riot Games has unveiled Demon's Hand, a fresh card-based minigame now available in the League of Legends client until late April. Inspired by popular deckbuilding roguelikes like Balatro, this mode challenges players to craft powerful poker hands against demonic foes.

Getting Started with Demon's Hand

Ensure your League client is fully updated before selecting Demon's Hand from the Play menu. The mode begins with a story introduction before launching into your first card battle.

Your starting hand appears in the bottom row, with health, coins, and crit chance displayed beneath. The Sigil system allows for six simultaneous enhancements - though you begin with none. Health persists between battles, requiring strategic visits to healing tents marked on your progression map.

Core Mechanics Explained

Each enemy appears as a top-row card displaying their attack strength and health pool. The attack coin indicates remaining turns before they strike, while the left-side guidebook details all possible poker hands and base damage values.

Damage-Dealing Hands:

• Solo (High Card) - 10 damage
• Dyad (Pair) - 20 damage
• Dyad Set (Two Pair) - 40 damage
• Triad (Three of a Kind) - 80 damage
• Tetrad (Four of a Kind) - 100 damage
• March (Straight) - 125 damage
• Horde (Flush) - 175 damage
• Grand Warhost (Full House) - 400 damage
• Marching Horde (Straight Flush) - 600 damage
• The Demon's Hand (Royal Flush) - 2000 damage

Card values stack with base damage, though enemy resistances may nullify certain suits. These visually appear as crossed-out cards while remaining playable.

Enhancing Gameplay Through Sigils

Victories earn coins for purchasing Sigils - special modifiers available during store phases. These range from hand-specific damage boosts to defensive abilities reducing incoming attacks. Strategic Sigil combinations can create powerful synergies throughout your run.
