In the vibrant world of Monster Hunter Wilds, engaging side activities offer unique rewards. This guide helps you unlock the coveted Monster (Squid) Hunter trophy/achievement. While not crucial to the main storyline, fishing provides a rewarding diversion and its own questline, ultimately equipping you to tackle this challenge.
First, complete Kanya's fishing quests:

Seeking the Goldenfish: Catch a Goldenfish (Scarlet Forest, Area 6; use Golden Bughead or Common Wood Minnow bait; Fallow weather increases chances).
Fishing for Favor: Catch a Gravid Bowfin (Scarlet Forest base camp; Plenty weather; use Emerald Jitterbait).
The Catch of a Lifetime!: Catch any large fish requiring the reeling minigame (Tuna in Scarlet Forest, Area 17, is a good option).
After completing these, Kanya assigns the Razzle Dazzle quest, leading to the trophy/achievement:

Go to Scarlet Forest, Area 17. Ensure Downpour weather (use the grill or camp to adjust). Enter the deep water until you can go no further. Spot the squids (if none appear, fast travel and return). Equip the Tentacle Jig and fish for the Goliath Squid (look for glowing blue shells). Reel in the squid to unlock the trophy/achievement.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. For further information, visit The Escapist.
