March brings a buzz to *Pokemon GO* with the Bug Out event, a celebration of bug-type Pokemon that promises an exciting array of activities and rewards. This event not only offers numerous opportunities to catch these fascinating critters but also introduces new Pokemon, bonuses, and stylish avatar items to enhance your gameplay experience.
The Bug Out event in *Pokemon GO* kicks off on **March 26 at 10 AM local time** and runs until **8 PM local time on March 30**. This five-day event is perfect for catching a variety of bug-type Pokemon, and it's an excellent time for Shiny hunting as nearly all featured Pokemon have Shiny variants.
According to the official event page, you'll encounter more of these bug-type Pokemon in the wild:
Two new additions, Sizzlipede and Centiskorch, will make their debut in *Pokemon GO* during the Bug Out event. You can evolve Sizzlipede into Centiskorch with 50 Sizzlipede Candy.
The event will feature various raids, with the following Pokemon appearing at raid gyms. Those marked with an asterisk (*) have the potential to be Shiny:

Spinning PokeStops during the event will yield event-themed Field Research tasks. Completing these tasks can reward you with Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with event Pokemon. Additionally, there are Timed Research rewards including a Lure Module and encounters with event Pokemon. The Paid Timed Research offers a Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with event Pokemon. Remember, all research must be completed and rewards claimed before the event ends.
New bug-type themed Avatar items will be available in the in-game shop starting with the Bug Out event. These items include:
The Bug Out event features Collection Challenges focused on event-themed Pokemon. Completing these challenges will reward you with Stardust, XP, and encounters with event-themed Pokemon.
