The trailer, released during IGN Fan Fest Day 2 2025, showcases the game's unique blend of rhythm roguelike action and side-scrolling gameplay, drawing on the elements that made Patapon a fan favorite.
The captivating new trailer from Ratatan Works provides an in-depth look at the game's mechanics, including a thrilling battle against a giant boss crab. Ratatan promises an engaging experience with its rhythm roguelike elements, allowing players to engage in massive melee battles with up to 100 characters. Additionally, the game supports online co-op gameplay for up to 4 players, enhancing the cooperative experience.
Developed by Hiroyuki Kotani, the creator of Patapon, and featuring music by the original Patapon musician Kemmei Adachi, Ratatan has successfully met its console launch stretch goal on Kickstarter in 2023, ensuring its availability on various gaming platforms.
