Hollow Era is an exciting Roblox game inspired by the Bleach universe, where players can choose between two paths: Shinigami (Soul Reaper) or Hollow. This comprehensive guide focuses on progressing as a Shinigami, so grab your sword, harness your Reiatsu, and let’s delve into the Hollow Era Shinigami progression.

At the start of Hollow Era, you begin as a Soul Spirit. To become a Shinigami, or Soul Reaper, you must accept the initial quest from the NPC named Hurt Shinigami, who is calling for help. Once you commit to becoming a Shinigami, you're locked into this path, unable to progress as a Hollow unless you later become a Visored. If you're keen on playing as a Hollow, refer to our separate guide on Hollow progression.
During the selection process, you must act quickly. Choosing to become a Hollow requires breaking your chain, while opting for Shinigami means the chain will slowly break on its own. Every two minutes, a section of the chain breaks, and if it fully breaks, you'll automatically become a Hollow. In such a case, consult our guide on resurrection moves for your Hollow endgame.
Your first task as a Shinigami is to purify 6 Lost Souls, aligning with the Shinigami's duty to maintain balance between life and death. Next, you'll receive a quest from an NPC near Hurt Shinigami to deliver a letter to a Doctor friend near the hospital.
This is an excellent opportunity to familiarize yourself with your powers. Consider purchasing a $1,000 random sword of power from a Urakara shop. If you have the funds, use the bus stop for $200 as a teleport/fast travel option, as the map is vast and involves a lot of running. Alternatively, you can buy infinite fast travel for 149 Robux in the Robux Shop.
Subsequent quests are marked with a red crosshair. You'll progress through defeating one Hollow, then 5 Corrupted Shinigamis, and so on until you reach level 15. Quests are categorized into repeatable, progression, and path-specific quests like Vizard and Airwalk.
To maximize your Shinigami Reiatsu, you must strategically allocate your skill points. The Reiatsu Skill Tree offers powerful Kido abilities exclusive to Shinigami.
Here are some Kido abilities and their descriptions:
To obtain Shikai in Hollow Era, you must reach level 15 and visit Urihiro to start the Shikai Training quest. Your task is to defeat Urahara Kisuke for 1,700 exp, unlocking Shikai powers upon completion.
Warning: If your character isn't fully optimized, defeating Kisuke at level 15 can be challenging. Consider grinding to level 25 or higher before attempting this quest.
Upon unlocking Shikai, your weapon gains a random powerful ability. If you're not satisfied with the new power, you can re-roll it at Urahara Shop for a fee.
The game features a Rage Bar that fills with damage taken or dealt. When full, press Y (default keybind) to activate Shikai, which ends when your Reiatsu is depleted or you release the key.
Your Shikai Mastery Level depends on the Mastery Points you earn by using Shikai Skills. Higher Mastery Levels reduce the Rage spent during Shikai use and come with different aura effects and character appearances.
Once you choose the Shinigami path, you can't switch to Hollow unless you become a Visored. To do so, you must reach level 50 or higher and unlock the Vizard fighting style at the Vizard’s Warehouse.
Becoming a Visored involves using Hogyoku, an orb that breaks the barrier between Hollow and Shinigami. To obtain Hogyoku, you must defeat the King of Hueco Mundo, though the drop rate is only 1%. This is the first step in unlocking Visored progression.
As a Visored, you gain access to new perks and buffs. Mask Control reduces the chance of being controlled by your inner Hollow, while the Visored node extends the duration of your mask, enhancing your damage output with Hollow powers.
Currently, Bankai is not available in Hollow Era. However, given the game's popularity, it's likely to be added in future updates. No release date has been confirmed yet, so keep an eye out for updates.
This concludes our Hollow Era Shinigami progression guide. Remember, the game is still in development, so expect some bugs and lag. In the meantime, use Hollow Era codes to give yourself an early boost – you'll need it!
