Rey Dau, the first dragon monster you'll encounter in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, wields the power of the lightning element, rendering it immune to this element. However, it has significant weaknesses to other elements, particularly water and ice. To maximize damage, aim for its head, which has a 4-star weakness. If hitting the head proves difficult, the wings, with a 3-star weakness, are a good alternative. Avoid targeting the torso and legs, as they are well-protected. For status ailments, all are effective except for Stun and Paralysis, given Rey Dau's lightning element.

Use a Flash Pod

A key strategy to quickly subdue Rey Dau is to deploy a Flash Pod. This tool temporarily stuns the monster, offering a window to inflict significant damage. When Rey Dau unleashes its lightning attack, aim for its glowing red horns to deal maximum damage. Don't forget to enter Focus Mode to spot the vulnerable horns easily.

Deploy a Pitfall Trap, as Shock Traps won't work on this lightning dragon. Quickly follow up with a Tranquilizer to ensure Rey Dau remains captured, as you only have a brief window to act.
