It Takes Two, Hazelight Studios' critically acclaimed 2021 release, captivated players worldwide with its innovative cooperative gameplay. The game's phenomenal success, including a "Game of the Year" award and over 20 million copies sold, cemented its place as a standout title. Naturally, fans eagerly anticipate a sequel.
However, Hazelight Studios has consistently prioritized exploring new creative avenues over direct sequels. While studio founder Josef Fares recently stated that, were he to choose a game to continue, It Takes Two would be his selection, adding, "Who knows what the future holds? Never say never," no official sequel announcement exists. Currently, Hazelight is dedicated to completing their next project, Split Fiction.
Despite the lack of concrete news, Fares' comments have ignited renewed hope among fans for an It Takes Two 2. While details remain scarce, the considerable interest in a follow-up is undeniable. Fans will undoubtedly remain attentive to any future updates from Hazelight Studios.
