For quite some time now, the *Tekken* fanbase has been vocal about a rather unconventional yet oddly fitting request: the inclusion of a Waffle House stage in *Tekken 8*. While it may sound absurd at first, the idea has gained considerable traction within the community. Interestingly, *Tekken 8*’s director, Katsuhiro Harada, seems to be listening—perhaps even considering it.
On X (formerly Twitter), Harada engaged with fans who continue to push for the Waffle House crossover. This isn’t just a passing joke; it’s become something of a recurring topic that Harada has addressed more than once. He admitted that he “fully understands” the enthusiasm behind the request and revealed that he's not only thought about it but also taken actual steps toward making it happen.
“Over the past year or more, I've actually tried to make contact through several different channels,” said Harada on X/Twitter. “However, and this is purely my own speculation, I suspect that the lack of response may be due to the fact that the project I'm known for revolves around 'fighting-themed video games.'”

Harada noted that while there has been no official reply from Waffle House, it's an unusual situation since "no response" is fairly rare in his experience. He also hinted that if certain branding adjustments were acceptable—so long as the spirit of the concept remained intact—he’d be open to revisiting the idea with a fresh approach.
So, unless Waffle House unexpectedly opens the door to collaboration, don’t expect Kazuya or Jin to settle their grudge match under the iconic neon glow of a real-world diner anytime soon. However, Harada did tease a potential workaround: a fictionalized version like “Hustle House,” which could capture the essence without legal complications.
Meanwhile, *Tekken 8* continues to evolve with its latest update—Patch 2.01—bringing new content including Fahkumram’s addition to the roster. Back in April, Harada also acknowledged player concerns regarding Season 2, stating that the tuning team is working non-stop to incorporate feedback and improve the game moving forward.
