Akatsuki Games has made a surprising announcement about the end-of-service (EOS) for their latest game, Tribe Nine! It's hard to believe, especially since the game only launched a few months ago in February across Android, iOS, and PC via Steam. Let's delve into why this game is facing an early demise.
When Is the Tribe Nine EOS?
Tribe Nine is set to officially shut down on November 27th, 2025. Alongside this disheartening news, Akatsuki Games has confirmed that Chapter 4 of the main story will not be released. This is particularly disappointing as the game had just started to tease exciting developments. As of May 15th, all new updates, features, bug fixes, and content releases have been canceled. This means that any previously announced adjustments or new features are no longer happening.
Two characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, who were slated to join the roster, will also not be added. Refunds will be issued for Paid Enigma Entities used on items like Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio, with refunds processed after the Revenio contract concludes.
Additionally, you can no longer purchase Enigma Entities or Daily Passes through the app or web store. However, you can continue to use your existing Enigma Entities until the official shutdown of Tribe Nine.
Why Did It Fail, So Soon?
Tribe Nine is a free-to-play extreme action RPG known for its distinctive style and rich worldbuilding. Despite its quality, the game faced challenges from the start. The release schedule was notably slow, with only one story chapter and one event released over three months. Moreover, there was little incentive for players to spend money. Players could build a strong team with just one pull, and duplicate characters (dupes) were not necessary, which, while beneficial for players, was not favorable for the developers' revenue model.
The decision to incorporate a gacha system appears to have been a risky move for Tribe Nine, and unfortunately, it did not yield the desired results. Nevertheless, the game remains available to play until November 27th. If you haven't tried it yet, you can check it out on the Google Play Store.
