Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2’s First Public Test Server Goes Live, Update 7.0 Patch Notes Reveal Huge Changes

Mar 27,2025 Author: Blake

The eagerly anticipated first public test server (PTS) for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is now live, offering players an early glimpse into the game's forthcoming Update 7.0. Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive have shared preliminary patch notes for this PTS version, which include most of the features slated for the update, although they caution that the final version of the patch notes may differ due to ongoing bug fixes.

PC players participating in the PTS have plenty to explore, as Update 7.0 introduces a range of new content and enhancements. A new PvE mission titled "Exfiltration" is among the highlights, along with a new secondary weapon, the Inferno Pistol, available to the Vanguard, Sniper, and Heavy classes. The update also introduces prestige ranks in PvE and private PvP lobbies, catering to both cooperative and competitive play.

For fans of customization, Update 7.0 brings new colors such as Volupus Pink and Thousand Sons Blue, along with options for Bulwark cloth and hands recoloring. PvP players will be pleased to know that customization rewards have been increased by 50%. Additionally, new champion skins are available: the Imperial Fists Champion for the Tactical class and the Space Wolves Champion for the Vanguard class.

Significant balance changes accompany the update, notably an expanded weapon arsenal in PvE, granting all classes a broader selection of weapons. A notable change is the Assault class's ability to use the Power Sword without mods. Players are encouraged to delve into the detailed patch notes to see all the tweaks to Space Marine 2's extensive weapon lineup.

An important gameplay adjustment has been made to the Inferno Operation. Now, if a player reaches the assembly area in the final stage, other players will be automatically teleported there after a short delay, addressing previous issues with griefing and stalled progress.
