Application Description

Uncover the secrets of your curse in this swashbuckling pirate adventure of insult-sword fighting!

A dreadful curse shattered your royal wedding, trapping your soul inside the body of your pirate grandfather. To break it, you must captain a madcap crew through uproarious trials in this tale inspired by Monkey Island and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Pirates of Donkey Island is a humorous, 79,000-word interactive pirate novel by Gilbert Gallo, where your decisions shape the narrative. Experience this entirely text-based story—without graphics or sound—powered solely by the limitless engine of your imagination.

A gorilla gentleman, an undead rocker, a rapidly-aging Voodoo crone, and a ludicrous spokesman. These will be your sole companions on the most extraordinary journey of your life. Each has a peculiar past, and their stories and interactions will guide you to discover your final, true self.

After countless insult-sword fights, grog-drinking contests, and rigged wheels of fortune, you will come to see life from a completely new perspective.

With your crew's aid, you'll uncover the truth about your despised pirate grandfather. Will you then accept your cursed fate or rage against your doom?

• Define your character's body and orientation as you play. Will you become male, female, or non-binary? Gay, straight, or asexual? The choice is yours.

• Live the life of a cursed swashbuckler! Will you seek to lift your curse or revel in your damned existence until the very end?

• Pursue romance with a hairy, mighty gorilla or build a life with a zombie. Or perhaps you'd prefer to court a venerable, wrinkled, and toothless lady?

• Command a motley crew of the cursed and harness their incredible abilities to unravel the mysteries of the Cursed Caribbean.

• Challenge your foes to uproarious insult-sword-fighting duels!

• Will you protect your crew as a respected captain, or betray them for gold, selling their souls to Davy Jones?

Stop brandishing your sword like a feather duster and set sail across the Cursed Caribbean to discover the ultimate treasure: your true self!
