Pesten With Cards is a classic card game from the Netherlands. Its name translates to "Bullying With Cards."

Pesten With Cards is a classic Dutch game, literally meaning "Bullying With Cards." It's known by similar names worldwide, such as Mau-Mau, Crazy Eights, Shedding, Puque, Чешский Дурак, Фараон, Крокодил, Tschau Sepp, or Uno. The objective is to be the first player to discard all your cards. To win, you must announce "Last Card" before playing your final card. Forgetting this warning results in a penalty of drawing two cards.

The game can be played with multiple decks, including jokers. Each player receives seven cards, with the remainder forming a face-down stock pile. To start, the top card of the stock is flipped face-up. Players then take clockwise turns. Note: if the revealed starting card is a "Pest-card," its effect is applied as if the dealer played it.

On your turn, you must play a card by placing it on the discard pile. You can only play a card that matches the number or suit of the top card. The exceptions are Jokers and Jacks, which can be played on any card. If you cannot play, you must draw a card from the stock. If the drawn card is playable, you may choose to play it immediately or keep it in your hand.

-Last card

After playing a card and having only one left, you must declare "Last Card" by clicking the dedicated button above your hand. This alerts other players. Forgetting to declare before playing your final card to win results in a penalty: you draw two cards, and your winning card is not played. Incorrectly declaring "Last Card" also incurs a two-card penalty. You may click the button at any time, even when it's not your turn, to ensure you remember.

You win the round by successfully playing your last card onto the pile. However, your final card cannot be a special card (see descriptions below).

-Special Cards

When a card is played, the game checks if it is a special card with a unique effect. The number or type of card dictates the required action. As many regional variations exist in the Netherlands, you can configure these actions in the game options to match your house rules. Available actions include:

- Joker

The next player must draw five cards from the stock. If that player also holds a Joker, they may play it, forcing the following player to draw ten cards. Each consecutive Joker adds five more cards to the total draw. Players who must draw cards cannot play any on that turn, and play passes to the next person.

- Two

The next player must draw two cards. If that player also has a Two, they may play it, making the following player draw four cards. Each consecutive Two adds two more cards to draw. If enabled in the options, a Joker may also be played on a Two, adding five cards to the draw. However, a Two cannot be played on a Joker. Players drawing cards forfeit their turn.

- Seven

You must immediately play another card on top of the Seven. Remember to declare "Last Card" if this play leaves you with one card. If you cannot play another card, you must draw from the stock.

- Eight

The next player's turn is skipped, and the player after them goes. In a two-player game, this means you get to play another card immediately (similar to a Seven).
