Helldivers 2 Truth Enforcers Warbond Drops This October 31st

Arrowhead Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment are thrilled to announce the launch of the Truth Enforcers Warbond, an exciting premium content update for Helldivers 2. Dive in to discover what this new Warbond brings to the game.

Helldivers 2 Truth Enforcers Warbond Brings New Weapons, Armor Sets, and Cosmetics

Enforce the Truth for Super Earth This October 31, 2024

Get ready for a Halloween treat as Arrowhead Game Studios and Sony unveil the Truth Enforcers Warbond, set to drop on October 31, 2024. According to Katherine Baskin, Arrowhead’s Social Media and Community Manager, this Warbond is not just about cosmetics; it's a comprehensive arsenal upgrade that will transform players into "one of Super Earth's official Truth Enforcers."

For those new to Helldivers 2, Warbonds operate similarly to a battle pass in other live-service games, where players can use earned Medals to unlock various items. Unlike typical battle passes, Warbonds are evergreen—once purchased, they remain accessible, allowing you to unlock their contents at your own pace. The Truth Enforcers Warbond can be bought at the Acquisitions Center in the Destroyer ship’s menu for 1,000 Super Credits.

As detailed in the official PlayStation Blog post, the Truth Enforcers Warbond focuses on upholding the Ministry of Truth’s staunch principles. Players will have access to advanced weaponry and armor sets designed to tackle any challenge thrown at them.

To show their loyalty to Super Earth, players can equip the new PLAS-15 Loyalist Plasma Pistol, a versatile sidearm that offers both semi-automatic fire for quick responses and charged shots for heavier damage. For those needing more firepower, the SMG-32 Reprimand is a rapid-fire submachine gun perfect for close-quarters combat, while the SG-20 Halt shotgun delivers powerful crowd control with its ability to switch between stun rounds and armor-penetrating flechette rounds.

Fashion-forward players can don two new armor sets: the sleek, light UF-16 Inspector with its white and red design, complete with the "Proof of Faultless Virtue" cape, or the medium UF-50 Bloodhound, offering a tankier build with red accents and the "Pride of the Whistleblower" cape. Both sets come with the Unflinching perk, which minimizes the staggering effect from enemy hits.

Alongside these capes, players can earn various banners and cosmetic patterns for hellpods, exosuits, and Pelican-1, plus an "At Ease" emote to assert the serious nature of the Truth Enforcers.

The Warbond also introduces the Dead Sprint booster, allowing players to continue sprinting and diving even after their stamina runs out, albeit at the cost of their health. This "high risk, high reward" item can be a game-changer in intense situations, enabling quick escapes or strategic maneuvers.

Helldivers 2’s Promising Future Despite Initial Player Base Decline

Helldivers 2 Truth Enforcers Warbond Drops This October 31st

Despite a strong launch earlier this year, with a peak of 458,709 concurrent Steam players (excluding PS5 users), Helldivers 2 saw a decline in its player base. This drop was largely due to the initial requirement to link Steam accounts to the PlayStation Network, which affected players in over 177 countries. Although Sony reversed this decision, the game remains inaccessible in these regions.

The concurrent player count on Steam fell to around 30,000, but the August Escalation of Freedom update temporarily boosted this to over 60,000. Despite this, the numbers have since settled just below 40,000. While these figures are not insignificant, they are lower than the game's initial peak.

The introduction of the Truth Enforcer Warbond, with its array of exciting new content, may reignite interest and bring players back to fight for truth, justice, and Super Earth.
