Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Extended 24 Hours Post-PSN Outage

May 06,2025 Author: Violet

Capcom has announced an extension to the Monster Hunter Wilds beta following a 24-hour outage of the PlayStation Network (PSN) that disrupted the previous test session. The PSN experienced an "operational issue" starting at 3pm PT on Friday, February 7, and services were not restored until 24 hours later. In response, Sony offered an additional five days of service to all PlayStation Plus members.

The outage significantly impacted PlayStation gamers, preventing online play and causing issues for single-player games that require server authentication or a constant internet connection. Among the affected games was the highly anticipated second beta of Monster Hunter Wilds, which was scheduled to run from Thursday, February 6 to Sunday, February 9 but was cut short due to the PSN downtime.

In response, Capcom has extended the next session of the Monster Hunter Wilds beta by 24 hours. The new session will now start on Thursday, February 13, at 7pm PT / 3am GMT and will run until Monday, February 17, at 6:59pm PT / 2:59am GMT, instead of the originally planned end date of Sunday, February 16. During this extended period, participants will still be eligible to earn the participation bonuses that will carry over to the full game upon its release.

Despite the disruption, players were able to engage with Monster Hunter Wilds' challenging new monster, Arkveld, during the beta. The full game is set to launch on February 28, 2025, and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
