It's a Friday, and Sybo has a surprise: a new game! The creators of Subway Surfers have stealth-launched a sequel for both iOS and Android. While hands-on impressions are still pending, app store listings reveal some details.
Subway Surfers City appears to be a direct successor, addressing the original's aging engine. It features returning characters, updated hoverboard mechanics, and significantly enhanced visuals.
The soft launch rollout is staggered. iOS users in the UK, Canada, Denmark, Indonesia, Netherlands, and the Philippines can download it. Android users in Denmark and the Philippines have access.
A Bold Move
Sybo's decision to create a sequel to its flagship title is a strategic gamble. The aging Unity engine in the original game limited development possibilities. The stealth launch approach is intriguing, especially given Subway Surfers' global popularity.
