FromSoftware's upcoming title will initially be tested only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Registration opens January 10th, with testing slated for February. This excludes a large segment of the fanbase from early access.
Bandai Namco hasn't publicly explained the omission of PC players from this initial testing phase. However, those selected for console testing will gain exclusive early gameplay experience.
Elden Ring: Nightreign continues the narrative of its predecessor, offering a new, unsettling adventure. While console gamers get a head start, PC users will need to await further announcements regarding potential future testing opportunities.
A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game message feature. Director Junya Ishizaki cited time constraints as the reason. With each play session lasting approximately forty minutes, there's insufficient time to utilize the messaging system.
Ishizaki stated, "The messaging function has been disabled due to the limited time available for sending and reading messages within the roughly forty-minute sessions."
