Rockstar has pushed back the release of GTA 6 to May 2026, a decision announced without fanfare, lacking details on launch platforms or a new trailer. No fresh screenshots were shared to ease the news.
Rockstar enthusiasts are no strangers to delays, given the studio’s history of postponing releases. This latest setback for GTA 6 feels almost expected, yet fans have responded with a blend of frustration, acceptance, and anticipation for another year of wild speculation about the game’s details.
The GTA 6 subreddit, a hub for the game’s most outlandish theories about its trailers and release, erupted after the announcement.
“Come on, Rockstar, at least drop some screenshots,” MyNameIsToFuOG posted, echoing widespread disappointment over the lack of new visuals to cushion the delay’s impact.

Speculation about GTA 6’s price is also rife. With Nintendo and Microsoft charging $80 for some titles, fans are preparing for a similar or even higher price tag—potentially $100—if the new GTA Online is bundled.
