Thomas Waterzooi Unveils New Art-Based Game Please, Watch The Artwork for Mobile

May 11,2026 Author: Gabriella

Thomas Waterzooi is crafting another unconventional art-based puzzle game. This time, he’s asking players not to interact, but to simply observe the artwork. The new title, Please, Watch The Artwork, is heading to mobile soon. It debuted at the Day of the Devs showcase during Summer Game Fest 2025.

Please, Touch The Artwork and Please, Touch The Artwork 2 launched in 2022 and early 2024, respectively. Following their success, Please, Watch The Artwork continues the series’ eccentric exploration of interactive art with a deeper psychological twist.

This spin-off doesn’t replace the highly anticipated Please, Touch The Artwork 3, which Waterzooi has confirmed is still in development. For a look at the reveal, see here.

Please, Watch The Artwork on Mobile Is Wrapped in Eerie Quiet and Subtle Dread ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At its heart, it’s a spot-the-difference game. You step into the role of a nightwatch at the MaMA (Museum of Animated Modern Art), monitoring surveillance feeds of paintings that subtly shift and come alive.

Your task is to identify the changes and report them before the growing unease overwhelms you. Centered around the works of Edward Hopper, the game animates over 40 reimagined paintings across six themed galleries.

You’ll witness scenes like empty diners, somber bedrooms, and dimly lit streets that loop and breathe. There’s no music—only the ambient sounds of each environment. Sound itself becomes a crucial element to observe, as audio anomalies are just as significant as visual ones.

The game is arriving on Android, iOS, PC, and Nintendo Switch. A mobile release window has been suggested for October. Waterzooi delivered the announcement with an ASMR voiceover, lending it a haunting, surreal atmosphere. Learn more about the title on the official website.
