"Guide: Using the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia"

Apr 17,2025 Author: Hazel

If you're on a mission to track down and conquer the most notorious ghosts in *Phasmophobia*, using special Cursed Possessions can be a game-changer, albeit with a dose of risk. Among these, the Haunted Mirror stands out as a particularly useful tool. If you're hesitant about using it, let's dive into how it works and why it's worth considering.

How to Use Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

The Haunted Mirror is considered one of the safest Cursed Objects you can use in *Phasmophobia*. Its benefits significantly outweigh the risks, and its functionality has remained consistent through the game's numerous updates. If you encounter it during your investigation, using it is highly recommended.

The Haunted Mirror provides a panoramic view of the ghost's current favorite room or area on the map. If you're familiar with the map's layout, this can drastically speed up your search for the ghost, allowing you to set up your equipment before things get too dangerous.

You can typically find the Haunted Mirror hanging on a wall, such as in 6 Tanglewood Drive, or lying on the floor in its designated spot. Cursed Objects always spawn in the same location on each map, though the specific item that appears is randomized.

To use the Haunted Mirror, pick it up and interact with it using the appropriate button (mouse or controller) to hold it up. You'll see a reflection of the ghost's current favorite room. Keep in mind that on Professional difficulty or higher, the ghost might wander to a different area after some time.

However, be cautious not to gaze into the Haunted Mirror for too long, as it will drain your sanity. If you hold it up for the entire duration, the mirror will shatter, triggering a Cursed Hunt at your current location. Therefore, use it when your sanity is high and make sure you quickly understand what you're seeing in the reflection.

What are Cursed Objects (Possessions) in Phasmophobia?

Cursed Possessions, commonly referred to as "Cursed Objects," are unique items in *Phasmophobia* that randomly spawn across different maps, influenced by difficulty settings and whether you're in Challenge Mode.

Unlike standard equipment used to safely locate ghosts and gather evidence of their activity, Cursed Objects serve as shortcuts to manipulate the ghost, albeit with much higher risks to your character. Some Cursed Objects are safer to use than others, depending on their abilities, and it's entirely up to you and your team to decide whether to use them. There's no penalty for choosing not to engage with them, and only one Cursed Possession will appear per contract, unless you modify settings in Custom mode.

There are seven different Cursed Objects available in the game, including:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw

This guide covers how to effectively use the Haunted Mirror in *Phasmophobia*. For more in-depth gaming guides and the latest news on *Phasmophobia*, including the 2025 Roadmap & Preview, be sure to visit The Escapist.
