Helldivers 2 Adds Enemies, Weapons, and Superstore

Feb 23,2026 Author: Hannah

Helldivers 2 has rolled out a significant new game update, introducing fresh Illuminate adversaries, weapon customization and progression, alongside adjustments to the Superstore. Patch 01.003.000 is now live on both PC and PlayStation 5.

After numerous teases from developer Arrowhead, Helldivers 2 has launched a new invasion push by the Illuminate alien faction. This update brings new enemy types, as highlighted on the PlayStation Blog, such as the Stingray—jetfighters that offer Illuminate air support, targeting Helldivers and executing devastating strafing runs—and the Crescent Overseer, capable of bombarding Helldivers in cover. Also introduced is the Fleshmob, described as a “failed” Illuminate experiment: “a Frankenstein’s monster of Voteless parts transformed into a brute battlefield force that Helldivers must work hard to eliminate.”

Arrowhead has hinted at “sightings of other, even larger ships, though details on their capabilities remain unclear.” So players may uncover more once they dive into the game.

Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 now includes weapon customization and progression for the first time. Most primary weapons now have levels that can be achieved by completing missions, which then unlock new attachments available through Requisition. In addition to attachments, players can also unlock patterns for their weapons.

Here’s the official description:

Whether it's tweaking sights for precision, changing color patterns, adjusting magazines for ammo capacity, muzzles to optimize weapon performance characteristics or adjusting under-barrel attachments for the handling you want, you're in command of how your weaponry performs on the battlefield. This level of individual attunement is sure to make your favorite primary best in its class.

Arrowhead has also unlocked and deployed a collection of patterns for the FRV, themed around the Viper Commandos, Freedom's Flame, Chemical Agents, and Truth Enforcers Warbonds. This backlog of patterns will unlock on May 15, coinciding with the launch of the Masters of Ceremony Warbond.

Finally, the Superstore has been updated so that desired items are always available, eliminating the need for players to wait for items to re-enter rotation.

Beyond new features, patch 01.003.000 includes an extensive balance pass, with adjustments to spread, drag, sway, melee weapon stamina cost, shrapnel spawning, and fire damage.
