Akatsuki Games has launched global pre-registrations for Kaiju No. 8 The Game on Android devices. The development team unveiled the first official gameplay trailer in June 2024, ending nearly a year of silence about this highly anticipated manga and anime adaptation coming to mobile and PC platforms.
According to official store listings, the game is scheduled for worldwide release on August 31, 2025. This collaborative project between Akatsuki Games, TOHO, and Production I.G. faithfully recreates Naoya Matsumoto's distinctive universe.
The gameplay combines cinematic storytelling from the anime with strategic turn-based combat mechanics. Players must first expose a Kaiju's weak point before executing powerful finishing moves.
Fans can play as fan-favorite characters including Mina Ashiro, Soshiro Hoshina, and Kikoru Shinomiya - all rendered in detailed 3D models that capture their signature fighting styles from the series.
While covering key story arcs, the game also introduces original narratives that expand the Kaiju No. 8 universe beyond Kafka Hibino's journey.
Akatsuki Games has implemented tiered pre-registration rewards - the more players sign up worldwide, the better the launch bonuses will be. One of the top rewards includes the exclusive 4-star "[Aiming for Greater Heights]" Mina Ashiro character.
The newly released trailer showcases Defense Force officers and Kaiju adversaries in action. Players can currently pre-register via the Google Play Store while watching the latest gameplay trailer below.
