Indie studio We Are Muesli recently announced their upcoming narrative game, In Their Shoes, scheduled for release in 2026 across both mobile and PC platforms. The game has already garnered attention by earning a nomination for independent and arthouse games at the prestigious 'A MAZE. 2025' awards held in Berlin.
Set against the backdrop of contemporary Milan—a city brimming with contrasts—this narrative game invites players to step into the shoes of seven distinct characters. Through 49 short, interactive vignettes known as "Moments," you'll gain intimate insights into the daily lives of these individuals.
Each Moment offers a nuanced exploration of hesitation, routine, and spontaneous decision-making. While some sequences unfold at a leisurely pace, allowing you to immerse yourself in the character's inner world, others demand swift reactions, mirroring the unpredictability of real life.
Unlike traditional narrative-driven games, In Their Shoes presents a fragmented storyline where players must piece together scattered narratives. As you delve deeper, you'll discover 26 hidden biographical details about each character, painting a rich tapestry of everyday life.
Although the Play Store page is still under construction, the Steam page provides a sneak peek into the game. For a closer look, watch the announcement trailer below:
