Palworld Dating Sim Confirmed: No April Fools' Prank, Says Developer

Apr 16,2025 Author: Skylar

Developer Pocketpair has unveiled an exciting new addition to its universe with the announcement of Palworld! More Than Just Pals, a dating sim set within the beloved monster-catching world of Palworld. This intriguing project, announced on March 31, 2025, is not an April Fools' Day jest, despite the timing causing some fans to initially question its legitimacy.

Pocketpair is keen to dispel any doubts: Palworld! More Than Just Pals is a genuine upcoming game, sparked by the team's 2024 April Fools' Day prank. The game is slated for release on PC via Steam at a yet-to-be-announced date.

In Palworld! More Than Just Pals, players will step into the shoes of a transfer student at the prestigious Palagos Private Academy. The game promises an immersive experience where players can forge friendships and romantic relationships with a diverse cast of student Pals. Characters such as the "cute" and "mysterious" Katress and the "timid" Chillet, familiar names from Palworld's creature roster, will feature prominently. The narrative offers players the freedom to choose whether to maintain friendships, pursue romance, or take a darker path with their Pals.

Bucky from the Palworld team confirmed the game's legitimacy on social media, stating, "This doesn't concern April Fools :)."

As Palworld marks its one-year anniversary, Pocketpair continues to enhance the original game with updates, including recent additions like crossplay support, Blueprint upgrades, and a photo mode. These updates will keep fans engaged as they await the release of Palworld! More Than Just Pals. Additionally, while hopes for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Palworld remain, fans can look forward to the possibility of the dating sim making its way to the console in the future.
