The Pokémon Company, in partnership with the esteemed Japanese comic publisher Shogakukan, is set to launch an official encyclopedia dedicated to the behaviors and ecology of Pokémon. Shogakukan made the exciting announcement on their website on April 21, revealing that Pokécology will hit the shelves in Japan on June 18, 2025.
Pre-orders for this eagerly anticipated book are now open at bookstores across Japan. Priced at 1,430 yen (tax included), Pokécology promises to be a valuable addition to any Pokémon fan's collection. While there's no official word yet on a global release, given the worldwide popularity of Pokémon, fans can look forward to an English version in the near future.
Pokécology will delve deep into the ecology of Pokémon, offering a comprehensive analysis of these beloved creatures from various scientific angles. The book will explore aspects such as diet, sleep patterns, physical characteristics, and how Pokémon interact with each other and their environment.
This unique encyclopedia is the result of collaboration with top veterinary behaviorists and ecology experts from the University of Tokyo.
