Sphere Defense: A Minimalist Tower Defense Game Now Available
Developer Tomoki Fukushima has launched Sphere Defense, a new tower defense game for mobile devices. The game tasks players with defending Earth from waves of enemies. While adhering to the core tower defense mechanics – strategic unit placement and resource management – Sphere Defense distinguishes itself with its minimalist art style and vibrant neon aesthetic.
Gameplay involves strategically positioning units, collecting resources to upgrade them, and overcoming progressively challenging levels. Perfect defenses, without taking a single hit, earn high scores and bragging rights.
Fukushima cites the classic tower defense game geoDefense by David Whatley as inspiration. He was impressed by its simplicity and engaging design.
