Rust, the popular multiplayer survival game, has launched a major new update: The Crafting Update. This patch significantly expands players' creative freedom with a suite of fresh features. A key addition is the culinary workbench, where survivors can grill chicken legs and enjoy them with a shot of Siberian vodka. Preparing meals now requires following specific recipes, and successfully cooked food grants valuable stat bonuses and modifiers to aid your survival.
Players can now build coops to house chickens and chicks. Inside, the birds will live, lay eggs, and flourish if their needs are met. Each chick is governed by four vital stats: Hunger, Thirst, Affection, and Sunlight. Failing to maintain any of these will lead to the chick's death. Meat harvested from chickens will gradually spoil and become inedible unless stored in a working refrigerator. All food items now display a clear timer showing their remaining shelf life.
For those with a sweet tooth, wild beehives now spawn on trees. You must carefully extract honeycombs and move them to custom hives built from wooden boxes. Bees are dangerous, so approach with a bee suit, drench yourself in water, or use a flamethrower for protection. A new tool, the Bee Grenade, looks like a jar of honey. When thrown and broken, it releases three swarms of angry bees that will attack anyone nearby, creating a chaotic zone of avoidance.
The engineering workbench has received a complete overhaul, now featuring dedicated tech trees for plumbing and electrical systems. This empowers players to construct intricate automated setups and even full-scale factories. Furthermore, the developers have introduced premium servers. Access is restricted to players whose Rust inventory holds a minimum value of $15. This initiative is designed to reduce cheating and toxic behavior, fostering a better gameplay environment for committed participants.
