Star Wars: Hunters is set to shut down even before completing a full year, but it will still celebrate its one-year anniversary before the final curtain. The question remains: is it worth celebrating the anniversary of a game on its last legs?
When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?
The servers for Star Wars: Hunters are scheduled to shut down on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the game just nine months after its launch. Players have until April 15th to wrap up Season 5. Zynga, the developer and publisher, is rolling out a final content update on the same day, introducing the last new Support Hunter, Tuya, available for free. In-game purchases will be disabled starting April 15th.
Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers go offline, and events from the season will be rerun. Players with unspent Crystals should use them up as there will be no refunds offered.
It Isn’t Shocking
While the shutdown is disappointing, it's not entirely surprising. Star Wars: Hunters faced multiple delays since its announcement in 2020, with beta tests limited to the SEA and ANZAC regions. The lack of major console support and a tepid reception contributed to its downfall. From a design perspective, the game missed a golden opportunity by opting for generic original characters instead of tapping into the rich tapestry of Star Wars legends.
If you've uninstalled the game but are considering one last adventure, Star Wars: Hunters is still available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown date.
