During Shift Up's IPO press conference on June 25th, CFO Ahn Jae-woo indicated that a PC version of Stellar Blade is being actively explored as a significant monetization opportunity, according to GameMeca and Game8 translations. Ahn noted this decision considers the current PS5 market share and the growing shift of AAA game players towards PC platforms.
Shift Up's CEO, Kim Hyung-Tae, corroborated this, confirming the PC version is under review but citing contractual obligations as the reason for withholding a release date. This aligns with the company's public filings, which mention both a PC release and a potential sequel.
Kim also highlighted the company's vision for Stellar Blade: to build a high-value IP, fostering a global fanbase. He emphasized their commitment to avoiding potentially harmful microtransactions, a strategy they aim to clearly communicate to their players.
Future Updates and Collaborations on the Horizon!
The excitement doesn't end there! Stellar Blade's update and DLC roadmap has been unveiled. Expect several updates throughout the year, including a highly anticipated Photo Mode in August, new costumes in October, and a major collaboration to be revealed later in the year.
