Functionality Will Be Revealed During the Direct
The long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch in 2025, and with a Nintendo Direct scheduled for today, April 2nd, fans are buzzing with excitement. However, Nintendo might have already given us a sneak peek at some of the Switch 2's features before the Direct. The company recently launched a new smartphone app called Nintendo Today, designed to deliver the latest news and game information directly to players. Savvy fans noticed that the app's listings on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store included promotional images, one of which prominently features the text, "Get updates on Nintendo Switch 2 news plus game info, videos, comics, and more every day."
Upon closer examination of the image showcasing the Nintendo Switch 2, it appears to reveal the final design of the entire console, including its newly designed Joycons. Most notably, it confirms the presence of a mysterious C button on the right Joycon. In the initial Switch 2 teaser released in January, this button was simply a black square with no label, leading to speculation about its potential functions, such as a new social feature or a sensor. With the final design now visible on the Nintendo Today app, it's clear that this is indeed a C button. However, its exact functionality is expected to be fully unveiled during the Nintendo Direct.
