Simply Sweet Games is an independent studio founded by women and based in Canada. Their debut release, Criss Cross Castle, launches on mobile today. This fantasy word puzzle game combines classic storytelling with contemporary language technology.

Criss Cross Castle is set in the enchanted world of Lexiconia. You enter a realm where the Illiterati have wiped out written language, ushering in a grim Dark Age of Ignorance. With stories lost, you gather scattered words like enchanted relics to revive the land’s narratives.

The game transforms vocabulary into your ultimate tool. You’ll cast words like spells to reveal paths, treasures, and secrets across a sprawling map. Expect word scrambles, exploration, and encounters with wandering merchants.

You can play as Wanda or Pip. Wanda is a witch who cultivates gardens and commands language with equal ease. Pip is a young squire concealing secrets behind their shield and strategic mind. Take a look at the game in the video below.
