Boss fights in *The First Berserker: Khazan* are a true test of skill, especially when you're facing the elusive Blade Phantom. Here's your guide to conquering this formidable foe.
Phase 1

As you step into the castle arena, you'll notice the floors are awash with a crimson liquid, setting the stage for an intense battle. The Blade Phantom wastes no time unleashing a barrage of attacks:
A six-hit combo consisting of four punches and two kicks, with the second kick delayed for added difficulty.
A three-hit combo starting with two punches, followed by a downward kick.
A four-hit sequence beginning with a right hook, followed by two kicks, and culminating in a leaping kick smash.
Another three-hit combo featuring flashing punches and a grab you'll need to dodge.
Beyond its melee prowess, the Blade Phantom can summon a giant hammer, causing damage and spawning red spikes. If it opts for the spear, prepare for a quick throw followed by a teleporting smash. When wielding a blade, expect a swift six-hit combo. The Phantom can also vanish, dashing around the battlefield before striking.
Mastering the timing of these attacks is crucial. By parrying or dodging effectively, you can create openings for your own attacks, depleting the Blade Phantom's stamina and setting up for a Brutal Attack. Keep up the pressure until you've reduced its health by about half, triggering the transition to Phase 2.
Phase 2

Phase 2 kicks off with the Blade Phantom unleashing four claw attacks, followed by a high-altitude spear throw. Evade the spear's landing zone and brace for a leaping swipe. This is quickly followed by three greatsword slashes and a concluding hammer smash.
While the claw attacks are new, the Phantom largely sticks to familiar moves, adding a spear thrust and follow-up, along with swift dual-wielding attacks numbering four to six. Teleportation becomes more frequent, and when armed with the greatsword, be wary of multiple slashes culminating in a Burst Attack, signaled by a red P-like symbol on your screen. Successfully parry this with a Counterattack (L1/LB + Circle/B) to restore your stamina and leave the boss vulnerable to further assaults.
Exploit the Blade Phantom's stamina depletion to your advantage, and time your Brutal Attack to maximize damage as the window nears its end. Triumph over this challenging boss to claim your rewards: 8,640 Lacrima, Soul Eater gear items, a Shieldsman’s Ring, and Netherworld Mineral for crafting.
With this guide, you're well-equipped to defeat the Blade Phantom in *The First Berserker: Khazan*. For additional assistance, explore more resources at The Escapist.
