Microsoft has exciting plans lined up for June 2025, with the announcement of the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 and a special The Outer Worlds 2 Direct. The Xbox Games Showcase is scheduled for Sunday, June 8, and will start at 10am Pacific Time, 1pm Eastern Time, and 6pm UK Time.
The Xbox Games Showcase 2025 will provide an in-depth look at upcoming games from Microsoft's first-party studios as well as exciting new titles from third-party partners worldwide. This event is a must-watch for Xbox enthusiasts eager to see what's on the horizon.
Microsoft's lineup of games in development is impressive, featuring titles such as the new Fable (delayed to 2026), the Perfect Dark reboot, Clockwork Revolution by inXile, Ninja Gaiden 4, Contraband from the Just Cause series developer, Rare's Everwild, The Coalition's Gears of War: E-Day, Hideo Kojima’s OD, and State of Decay 3 by Undead Labs. Additionally, Double Fine, the studio behind Psychonauts, is working on a new project.
On the Activision Blizzard front, a new Call of Duty game is expected later this year, alongside various releases from Blizzard. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, set to launch in July, might also be featured. While new Xbox hardware might not be revealed just yet, with next-gen consoles and an Xbox handheld rumored for 2027, Microsoft could discuss Xbox-branded handhelds from third-party companies during the showcase.
Following the Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft will host The Outer Worlds 2 Direct, giving fans an exclusive look inside Obsidian Entertainment. The direct will showcase new gameplay, details, and insights from the developers behind this highly anticipated sequel to the award-winning, first-person sci-fi RPG. The Outer Worlds 2 is slated for release later in 2025, and a release date announcement is expected during the event.
