Amazon's adaptation of the iconic video game series, *God of War*, is generating significant buzz even before its premiere, with the streaming giant already committing to two seasons. This exciting development comes directly from the show's new showrunner, Ronald D. Moore, who stepped in following the departure of Rafe Judkins and executive producers Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus.
In a recent chat with Katee Sackhoff, a fellow alum from *Battlestar Galactica*, Moore shared insights into his latest project. "Right now, I'm working on an adaptation of, there's a video game called God of War, a big title in the gaming world that Amazon has ordered two seasons of and they've asked me to come in," Moore explained. "So I'm literally in the writer's room, and working on that. That's my new thing."

Moore, who humorously confessed he's not much of a gamer, enjoys classics like *Defender*, *Asteroids*, and *Centipede*. He recounted his struggles with modern controllers, saying, "'Press R1.' Which one's R1? Oh, I'm dead."
For the *God of War* series, Moore is not only the showrunner but also serves as a writer and executive producer. His impressive resume includes work on *Star Trek: The Next Generation* and *Deep Space Nine*, as well as being the showrunner for the critically acclaimed 2000s revival of *Battlestar Galactica*.
Despite some changes in the production team, Sony's Cory Barlog remains an executive producer, ensuring a strong connection to the source material. The series will be based on the acclaimed 2018 *God of War* game, though details are still sparse at this stage.
Amazon's swift renewals of other video game adaptations, such as the *Fallout* TV show and *Secret Level*, after their successful launches, suggest a promising future for *God of War* on the streaming platform. This trend indicates high hopes for the series' reception and longevity.
