Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Free Content and Story Updates Planned for a Year

The excitement surrounding Assassin’s Creed Shadows continues to grow as Ubisoft unveils its comprehensive year 1 post-launch roadmap. Just over a month after its release, the game is set to receive a series of updates that promise to enrich the player experience. Announced via Twitter (X) on May 1, the roadmap outlines a variety of new content, including free Story Drops and a highly anticipated DLC expansion.

Year 1 Post-Launch Roadmap

Assassin’s Creed Shadows (AC Shadows) is not resting on its laurels. Ubisoft is committed to enhancing the game with exciting new additions. The highlight of the roadmap is the introduction of Story Drops, which are free content updates designed to deepen the game's narrative and gameplay. According to Ubisoft, "These new free quests will introduce new player abilities, new allies, new world activities, and provide deeper looks and backstories for some of your favorite characters, each new piece of content expanding on the main game."

In addition to the free content, Ubisoft is gearing up for the release of their first expansion, The Claws of Awaji, slated for later this year. This expansion will transport players to the new region of Awaji Island, accessible after the base game's epilogue. Players can look forward to encountering new enemies, unlocking new abilities for both protagonists, and wielding an exclusive new weapon for Naoe.
