This exciting news was revealed by skateboarding media veteran Roger Bagley during a members-only livestream of The Nine Club skateboarding podcast, as reported by Video Games Chronicle.
Bagley shared that the game was "already done" when Tony Hawk himself reached out to Activision, insisting on Margera's inclusion. Despite being initially told it was not possible, Hawk's determination prevailed, showcasing his commitment to ensuring Margera's presence in the game.IGN has reached out to Activision for further comment on this development.
Margera, known for his professional skateboarding career and his role in the Jackass franchise, has faced significant personal challenges, including struggles with alcohol and substance abuse, which led to multiple rehab visits. He was also dismissed from the Jackass Forever project and faced legal issues, including a restraining order from Jackass director Jeff Tremaine due to alleged threats.
Recent videos of Hawk and Margera skateboarding together sparked speculation about Margera's potential return to the game, adding to the excitement surrounding this announcement.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4, announced earlier this month, is slated for release on July 11, 2025, and will be available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Developed by Iron Galaxy, the game has overcome significant hurdles, including the near-cancellation following the merger of its previous developer, Vicarious Visions, with Blizzard.
