1989's Batman movie introduced a revolutionary all-black Batsuit, which has become one of the Dark Knight's most iconic looks across all media. Although DC didn't fully adopt this costume in the comics outside of actual Burton-Verse tie-ins like Batman ‘89, they introduced a movie-inspired Batsuit in the 1995 storyline "Troika."

This new Batsuit embraced the all-black body aesthetic but maintained a traditional blue cape and cowl. It also featured more dramatic elements like spiked boots, which were later toned down. The result was a more menacing and stealthy suit that became Batman's default look throughout the '90s.
